Girls of the CyberArmy| Category | | | Summary | | An article about the girls in CA, but not in the way you might think. Find out who they are, what made them join, and what are they doing to support CyberArmy's goals. |
| | Body | The majority of CyberArmy members are males, but there are a few females amongst us. The women of CA try to do their best in order to prove there's no difference between men and women when it comes to knowledge.
I will present to you the work of some of the CyberArmy females, and you will discover that some of them have very important roles here. In the end, I hope to show that women can do some things better than men and that we should never hold a woman to a lower standard just because she is a woman.
CinC snarkles- Her role here is the most difficult; she has to take care of various things related to keeping CA running: managing the CA Staff, overseeing the brigades, keeping the general peace, and looking for ways to involve CyberArmy in the Internet community at large.
Cpt. Gisterose- She joined CA in 2002, starting out in the Morale & Moderation brigade, and she stayed there until Morale was disbanded. After that, she joined CAU for a short time, then went back to SAS.Currently, she is the X/O of CyberArmy Privacy Commission, the C/O of Privacy Publications and the Chief Editor of Privacy Watch Releases. She feels that women in CA are sometimes thought of as stupid because of the bad reputation of former female CA members.
Cpt. Catfancy- She first joined the GFX brigade in 2003, where she eventually became the top level C/O of Cyberarmy Services Division in SAS. She resigned her C/O spot a few months ago due to real life issues, but has since gotten involved in remodeling the CA Store and editing for zZine, where she writes her own column called "Ask Cat". Catfancy believes that the only challenge in being a female in CA is proving to the males that you aren't here to meet men; rather, you are here because you support CyberArmy's mission.
Lt. Leetah- She was the C/O of Visual Design and the X/O of CASD. The thing that bothers her most is when someone asks her for a photo in order to prove she's a woman.
Ker. PixieLuv- She found out about CA and joined in 2001. She was the C/O of R&D and X/O of CAU. Later, she held the position of C/O for CyberArmy Advanced Hardware Projects.and is now the C/O of Knowledge Bank.
Ker.icklenewt- She joined CA in 2001. She is a SAS X/O and the C/O for the new CyberArmy Nursery Program. She maintains the SAS sites and the CyberArmy Quotes Database. She gets along well with everyone, but she likes chatting with guys more than girls because she finds them funny and interesting.
Lt. PrincesSoha- She joined Morale, but had to leave after a while, returning after Morale became a top-level brigade. After Morale was disbanded, she joined CAHR, but left shortly after that. She came back and joined ERD, then zZine, and then back to SOS.
Tr. Snowie- I joined CA 2 months ago. I currently work for zZine. I like my job and I find it interesting. I get along well with everyone (at least, that's how I see it). CA has helped me find friends that I never would have found in real life.
I asked some male members of CA what they thought about the female members. I got some nice answers. One was that there's no difference between men and women because we all work as hard as we can. Another reply was that women are superior and sometimes smarter than men.
However, society thinks that women want special attention, and that there are jobs that cannot be done by a woman. Even when a woman gets an important role at the place where she works, people think she got it because of her gender or looks. It would be nice if we could stop judging people strictly by their sex.
Lastly, I would just like to wish a Happy Equality Day to all women! ;) |
