Feedback Digest September 2004

Category
CyberArmy
Summary
This is the September 2004 Feedback Digest. Due to Icklenewt being unavailable I'm doing this edition of the Feedback Digest. Its the first time, so please bear with me :)
Body
Features:

Open Files: the idea was to have a non-reviewed folder in /Files where people could upload files which would automatically be deleted in 24-48 hours. The discussion about this is still on-going.

Multi Language Support: the proposal was to have all of CyberArmy's pages in different languages, to make it more user-friendly. It was decided not to do this because it would be too much of a hassle to keep it all up-to-date and to find people fluent enough in the various languages to get good translations.

Forum Quick Launch: because of the slight lag there is when loading the entire forum list (especially when one has a great number of forums), the proposal was to have a 'forum quick launch' to jump from one forum to the other without having to re-load the forum list. It is a doable idea, but since having such a 'mini' forum list on every forum would also cause lag, it wouldn't make a difference where you go to select your next forum.

'Who is online?': the idea was to put a box in the footer of the front page with the usernames of people who are currently online (just like some forums have). People would also have the option to set themselves as 'invisible' so they wouldn't show up on there. It was decided not to implement this specific idea, but it will be kept in mind as a possible addition sometime in the future.

Bugs Fixed:

/files error: people could see the names of files they could not access. This has been fixed now.

Bugs Outstanding:

cMS error: there has been a report of messages not getting delivered. So far there has been only one case reported, if it happens to you please report it! Its currently being looked at.

and

The good old 500 errors are still out there...if you happen to encounter any, please report them! Here is the layout we'd preferably like to receive the error report in:

"Whether the error had the CyberArmy layout or not"

"Time it occured"

"Page it occured on and/or action it occured during (eg posting)"

Thanks in advance!

I hope you liked this edition of the Feedback Digest. Please remember to include contact information if you submit something to Feedback so we can contact you about it (if you want us to do that)!
