zZine interview ker. Elm ( c/o of manifesto project )| Category | | | Summary | Octopus: firstly, thank you for taking the time to be interviewed by zZine.
Elm: No problem, sorry it took so long to get ahold of me, I like to support zzine whenever I can.
|
| | Body | O: Can we start by asking a couple of questions about you... How long ago did you join CA?
E: Forgive me because I am getting old so I'll try and remember the best I can. I started an account originally in late 1999, I started the elm account in early 2000, but I did not really become active in a brigade until the middle of 2000.
O: :) What brigade did you join first?
E: I joined propaganda. Ker Goliath was my first CO, propaganda later became CAPR, and when it joined with IC the new brigade became CA-SaS.
O: :D A while ago I did an article on abmitions. What would your ambition inside Cyberarmy be?
E: That is a hard question. My current ambition is to complete the manifesto project some time between now and the day I die. I don't really have any personal ambitions beyond that currently as far as CA is concerned.
O: You're now C/O of Board Digest, how did that happen, and why did you choose the job?
E: I didn't really choose the job. When the site came back up the last time scanjack was appointed to CinC. Prior to the site going down I had resigned from CA. I have known scan for a while and wanted to come back to support his work in CA. I have also known and enjoyed DigitalDemon for a long time. I asked him if he had a position for me as a moderator. He invented the job and asked me if I would do it.
O: Interesting, recently you were promoted to Ker, how do you feel?
E: I feel about the same as I did when I was a Ltker. I appreciate the effort that people put out to get me promoted. In the long run however, I would like to see the rank system go away. I know that isn't something that is going to happen at least in the short term. I do feel proud to have been recognized.
O: You're currently spending alot of time on the CyberArmy Manifesto project. How did you get achieve this position?
E: I talked to people about writing a fiction book in this format a few months ago. I liked the idea but did not have the time to pursue the project so I did not go very far. Scanjack recently told me that this is what he wanted me to do. I do want to point out that this is still his project, I am just heading it for him.
O: In a summary, what is the manifesto project?
E: Well it is going to be a book in some format, probably an ebook. It is hard to say how it will turn out when we are done. At this point it should have a history of CA, a history of every brigade, and in some for or another an out look on CA and a philosophy of CA.
O: How have you decided this will work, structure of the group, etc?
E: Well, currently we have six groups, each of them works on different parts of the project, right now we are working different parts of the history. In the near future it is likely that we will under go a restructure to compensate for inactive people.
O: How do you feel the manifesto is going right now?
E: Right now I think the manifesto project is going well. It does need some serious re-organization, skerhner has been doing an excellent job, but I need to make some more time for it and get more involved on a grass roots level if it is going to be sucessful.
O: How do you feel members of CyberArmy have supported the project, along with people needed for information?
E: I think the community has been great. Of course we have run into a few problems with getting information but all of them have misunderstandings and were easily cleared up. Staff especially has been supportive, probably because they fear scanjack the terrible.
O: What sort of time do you think the manifesto will be finsished?
E: I cannot say for sure. If I had to guess I would say another three or four months.
O: How long aprroximately are you expecting the manifesto to be?
E: Once again I am guessing here but I would say at least 150 pages.
O: And before we finish do you have anything you'd like to add?
E: Well, I would like to tell CA as a whole to keep on moving forward, things are being improved all the time.
O: Once again, thank you for takin the time to be interviewed by zZine.
E: No problem. |
