Bye bye Ker. reeferman :(
This week is a sad one for everyone at CAPR. Ker. reeferman has retired.
Hard worker, one of this members that Cyberarmy couldn't live without, he was
C/O Project Administration. His job was coordinating projects like CAGaming,
CARadio, CAMerchandising, Project Purple, CAGallery, and of course, your favourite
zine, zZine.
Ker. reeferman has left a big hole in our souls and a gap in the Chain of Command.
Mar. CHiCoSTo is working with Gen. Goliath on restructurating CAPR because withour
Ker. reeferman, nothing won't be the same.
Bye bye Ker. reeferman, we hope that you'll have luck in your next projects.
Take care.

CAPF work status
Ker. SoCiOpAtH, Senior C/O - CAPF has proudly sent a report to 'NEWS FROM THE
FRONT' about his Division's latest achievements.
In the report, he tells that Cap. docdoom has finished a bot project which
is a great success and will be aiding CAPF tremendously.
Other project finished is the Scouting, done by LtKer. avery313371.
The website is going, slow, but going. The CAPF members asigned to this are
doing a good job, as 'NEWS FROM THE FRONT' could verify last week.
Every week, we can see that CAPF work power increases, again, we can't wait
for the results!
'Your Voice' arrives to Cyberarmy
Gen. gabbana and Ker. sieco have presented 'Your Voice', a new member tool
which will can be used for sending suggestions and complaints directly to Cyberarmy.
Gen. gabbana had the idea, because "till now people just had the chance
to spread ideas at boards and IRC channels and then those (often very good)
ideas get lost".
It's sure that this new service could make members talk more openly about their
problems, but there's always the privacy/identity problem. Don't worry, you
don't send your nick if you don't want to.
Of course, "abusers must expect that they'll be banned in case of bad
abuse, like flooding/spamming the feedback team", Gen. gabbana declared
to 'NEWS FROM THE FRONT'. Also, Ker. sieco told us " depends how bad they
abuse it, but they can expect anything from being ignored up to being banned".
Gen gabbana explained how 'Your Voice' works starting from a member who writes
a complaint about an officer: "One of the research team officers will analyse
the complaint and either talk to the other side or redirect it to a neutral
person that has been voted once". He said that they were thinking about
"setting up a vote for a z8+ person that is the neutral person, so this
man in the middle can decide what to do and both sides need to accept the solution".
Another interesting point is the privacy of the complaint's content. Gen. gabbana
asured that punishment for the abusing research members will be severe (they
would get a lifetime ban).
'NEWS FROM THE FRONT' wanted to put a hypotetical situation. What would happen
if we had a problem with the CinC.? The answer of Gen. gabbana was clear: "Since
even the CinC. voted on the man in the middle he'd need to accept his decision
about this incident with voting a person all members accept the decisions of
the person voted therefor this vote is this important laters".
Ker. sieco talked about the first steps when a complaint is received: "
when we get the information we read them, as posts on a board. Then we reply
saying it's a Suggestion about something and where it should go, we need replies
from 2+ research members before any action is taken", with this, he wanted
to explain that 'Your Voice' will always try to be impartial and avoid making
a mistake and personal opinions getting in the way.

If you visit OSI, you'll find these intersting Code Examples an Tutorials:

After reading them all, 'NEWS FROM THE FRONT' can asure that this week was
another good week for OSI. Congratulations for the good work.
Cap. Turtleboy and CARadio
'NEWS FROM THE FRONT' proudly presents Cap. Turtleboy, C/O CARadio.
He explained us that Gen. Goliath has linked together several Shoutcast servers
to create the network that will be the final result.
So, it looks like the 'hardware & software' problem is solved, but this
group is in urgent need of DJ's, "people who put toether 'shows' with mp3s
they have and broadcast them using the Shoutcast program".
Also, Cap. Turtleboy remarked that members of this brigade should have a cable/dsl
modem and of course, a decent library of mp3s.
He plans to make a weekly schedule, with different shows every few days. All
we can say is: We can't wait to switch on our radios!
Silver Division is demanding members
What's Silver Division? Maybe you haven't see it in the Chain of Command. It's
a new division for Fundraising and is looking for a number of recruits to help
push money ideas for CA into a reality.
As LtKer. SmudgeUK sent to 'NEWS FROM THE FRONT' the duties, skills needed
to join Silver Division and a presentation of the brigade itself are as follows:
The Fundraising team, although not yet on the Chain of Command is working
hard to generate, implement and maintain a number of fundraising projects to
help generate money for Cyberarmy and work towards the goal self-sufficiency.
Our primary concern is to make sure that everyone, no matter their geographical
location is able to use our services by implementing a financial infrastructure
allowing money to travel easily and efficiently to the appropriate Cyberarmy
service.
The C/O of the Fundraising Brigade is Axeladam, with assistance from smudgeuk
and N30r3b3l as 2nd in command. The brigade is broken down into the following
groups:
-Thinktank: Generates ideas internally, and communicates with other brigades
for other CA members ideas for fundraising projects and tests their feasibility.
-Implementation: Once our ideas have developed, business plans produced
and approved by Z9 and the CinC this team works with other brigades to implement
them.
-Finance: This team carries the burden of managing some of the money coming
into Cyberarmy and making sure it is directed to the Cyberarmy services. This
team will develop a web based finance system for this task.
-Web Dev: This team will manage the www.silver-division.tk web-site and
keep it up to date with projects currently active. This team will work closely
with the Implentation team to develop web-sites for individual fundraising schemes,
if required.
Duties are as follows:
- Listening to other CA members for suggestions to make Cyberarmy financially
self-sufficient.
- Creation of a framework for assessing the feasibility of ideas
- Developing business plans and financial forecasts
- Working with other brigades to implement and maintain the new sources of revenue
Recruits must:
- Be dedicated to CA and its ideals
- Be on IRC
- Be motivated, dedicated and active!
- Have an attitude to get things done, and not just talk about them
- Open to new ideas
- Have a crazy sense of humour!
We are also looking for web-programmers to help develop our site.
If you are interested, please send an email with your skills/interests and
how you think you could contribute to this team to: thebeermuppet@hotmail.com
or catch me on IRC in #fundraising (nick: smudge).
So, now you have been informed. If you are a "white brigade" member,
consider the idea of becoming Silver.
Philosophers inside Cyberarmy?
Yes, it's true. If you enjoy discussing about philosophy, why don't you join
'Cyberarmy's Agora' at #philosophy every Friday?
These interesting events are conducted by LtKer. Inspectorgadget and Gen. leto.
If you have some ideas, you can contact them and contribute to this philosophy
discussion group.
Every meeting, the topic changes, and it will be voted by #philosophy operators
who in turn are voted by everyone in the room after each of the first 5 debates.
Guess which is the first topic, 'MATRIX' lovers? Simple, it's "What is
Reality?".
Will it be 'NEWS FROM THE FRONT' next week?
The answer is not really clear. Due to vacations, your favourite Cyberarmy
newsletter from your favourite zine won't probably be released.
But no problem. The week after, 'NEWS FROM THE FRONT' will be released again
for informing you of what's up inside Cyberarmy.
