Summary
Popups can be annoying little critters, popping over and sometimes under your browsing. Want to murder these fiends? Sure, some say that ads fuel the little left in the internet economy, but there must be better way to sell products then getting your a
Body
So I set out to find the cream of the crop in popup killers. I came up with five popup abolishers.

5. Pop-up Stopper

Panicware.com has developed Pop-up Stopper, a popup killer that comes in a free and a pro version. It has two settings: general killing, and aggressive killing. If you want to see the ad, hold ctrl+shift while clicking a link. It even plays a cute little sound while killing them!

4. PopUp Killer

Popup Killer is very simple. It does what it's meant to do, and does it well. You can hand-select which popups to kill, or you can download a list compiled by other users all around the globe. You can upload your own additions to the list.

3. POW!

POW is one of the oldest, if not THE oldest popup killer out there. It works well, and is pretty simple to navigate. One drawback: You have to train it. I like this one the best, personally, for being so simple.

2. WebWasher

Webwasher is an add-on to your browser that does... Well, I'll let you guess. It not only takes down popups, but also banner ads. Another big plus is it works on most major operating systems. It has a Linux, Mac, and Windows version. It's been tested with IE, Netscape, and Opera.

1. Proximitron

Proximitron is the big daddy of them all. It can kill all ads, even 'eye-blaster' ads, that throw images across your screen. You can also use it to stop javascript, cookies, and other methods of tracing where you came from. You can also make systems think you're using another OS or browser.
