CyberArmy IRC News - May 2005

Category
CyberArmy
Summary
In the past several weeks there have been some changes that have occurred on the IRC network. Some of these changes are simply policy related, some changes will affect the way some users access the network.
Body
The network policies have been relocated and are now available, along with a list of servers and staff, at /wiki/irc. Updates have also been made to the operator policies.

In an effort to further secure the network against harmful clients, we have installed a service on the network to scan for open proxies upon connection. Clients connecting to the IRC network will have a scan performed on known proxy ports and if found to be insecure will be disconnected from the network. We have had this service running in the past, and connecting clients have always been warned via the Message of the Day that these scans may take place upon connection to the network.
