CyberArmy Public Relations| Category | | | Summary | | For almost as long as the CyberArmy Brigades have been around, CyberArmy Public Relations (CAPR) has been around. Originally, CAPR was a brigade itself and later as a subgroup of CyberArmy Services and Support (CA-SAS). |
| | Body | CAPR in its current form came to be when Internal Command and CyberArmy Public Relations (the brigade) merged to form CA-SAS. CAPR was placed as a top-level subgroup of the newly formed brigade.
Since then a lot has changed. People have come and people have gone but the task of CAPR has always remained the same, getting word out about CyberArmy. Having said that, there has never been consensus on how this task can be done best. Even now there are many different ideas on how this should happen. Some say CAPR should design and distribute flyers and folders, others want to focus on web-based advertisement. In practice CAPR does both. Its two projects, CA Ambassadors and Visual Advertising together encompass both ?streams? of ideas currently in CAPR.
CA Ambassadors is the longest-running project in CAPR. It focuses purely on web-based advertisement. In their online database they store links to websites that in the future will be approached to see if an affiliate (or advertising) deal can be worked out, as well as the result of that ?meeting?. CA Ambassadors does not have an easy task, it does not receive any funding and therefore relies 100% on the goodwill of the staff, developers and webmasters of other websites and communities. In the future they hope to have more resources to offer, like affiliate space on the CA website.
Visual Advertising is a new project that focuses (as the name suggest) on visual advertisement. This includes folders, flyers, PowerPoint presentations among others. The folders and flyers will be distributed offline on a limited scale. If it is successful the area of distribution will be expanded.
Examples of work done by CAPR can be found in /files/tools/pr/. It includes flyers done by the predecessor of Visual Advertising, CA Grassroots and also the protocols by which CAPR works. CAPR relies on a small group of dedicated volunteers to do its job and is looking for more helping hands. If you wish to join CAPR or have any questions, feel free to contact Halley.
I would like to thank everybody in the past and present who have made CAPR possible and who in any way support its important task. Without its members, CA would be nothing and CAPR is proud to be in the position to help CA fill its ranks.
