Interview with Kernel Doeycall

Category
CyberArmy
Summary
I managed to corner Kernel Doeycall on IRC one day and ask him the following questions.
Body
1.What are your current duties in CyberArmy?

I'm currently the head of CPC. I'm the guy that makes sure everyone is working in our brigade. As for the rest of CyberArmy, I am only a staff member. I give advice when needed.

2.What is the best way of getting promoted in your brigade?

Do your work in a timely fashion with good quality. As you advance in rank, start actively bugging me about available C/O spots. Once you are a C/O or even an X/O, show that you can still do your work and keep your group busy and you are on the way to another promotion.

3.Do you enjoy being the commander of CPC?

Yes. I've always loved this group in general. This actually makes my second time as CPC commander.

4.What are your current projects in CPC?

Well, the two most important projects right now are SurfSafe and CAP (CyberArmy Petitions). SurfSafe is CPC's online magazine featuring articles on privacy and security. We are also working on a few FAQs and tutorials for the website. SurfSafe can be found at http://www.cpc-net.org and CAP can be found at http://www.cpc-net.org/petitions. CAP is the new CyberArmy Petitions system. We created this system for all of CyberArmy to use to create serious petitions. Unlike some of the other online petition systems that allow stupid ones like "Sign here to help us vote Snarkles out of CinC" we're not allowing that kind of thing.

5.Do you have any long-term goals for CA?

Ok, if we are talking personal, then no; none right now. I'm a C/O of a great group. What more can a guy ask for? :)

6.If there were one thing you could change about CA what would it be?

To be totally honest, there really isn't anything I can think of changing. From where I am sitting right now, the current system seems to be doing pretty well.

7.If you were CinC?

This place would be screwed. :) Nah, if I were CinC, I'd probably be modeling myself after snarkles and ScanJack.

8.Your biggest fear?

Biggest fear? Men in pink suits and losing my C/O ship.

9.What exactly is "Doeycall"?

The name "Doeycall" came around back when I was in 6th grade (about 8 years ago). I had a small speech problem so if I said Joey, it sounded like I said Doey (pronounced Doughy). As far as adding "call" on the end of it. I'm not sure how that got there.

10.Who do you admire?

All of the hard working members in CyberArmy

11.If you weren?t in CyberArmy?

If I weren?t in CyberArmy, I'd probably be more of a gamer by now :)
