Tip of the Week |

![]() ![]() Beta Lt Icydemon Since neverdie hasn't posted his regular Tip of the Week here's something we found with the CAIS guys while searching like mad and reading the fine manual. While running a program in a linux shell you can terminate it temporarily with Ctrl+Z. Then you'll be brought back to the shell and you'll see: [1]+ Stopped irssiNow you can dir, ls or anything else, even run a second program. By typing "jobs" you'll see what's running in the background like: icydemon@lethality:~$ jobs [1]- Stopped irssi [2]+ Stopped viNow, by typing fg and the number of the job it gets back to your program! like: icydemon@lethality:~$ fg 1will get me back to irssi. It's very handy if you are connected to volund and need to do multiple things. I hope you find it useful :) Lieutenant Icydemon General Plumbing (a.k.a. Super Mario) Replies:
